Exam & certification
This course is assessed through a case study and a hands-on integration project, with no official certifying exam. An ExaBuilding training certificate is issued upon completion of the course.
Smart Building and KNX integrators, automation engineers, BMS technicians, IT professionals and engineering design offices.
An understanding of Smart Building systems and basic IP networking is recommended. The "Smart Building: Fundamentals & Architectures" and "IP Networks for Smart Building" courses are an excellent preparation.
How to make several technologies work together in one building: KNX, BMS, BACnet, Modbus, DALI, MQTT, APIs and third-party systems. The programme covers integration architectures (centralised, distributed, gateways, edge, cloud), building data, gateways and protocols, software integration, IoT, cybersecurity, methodology, testing and validation, followed by a hands-on integration workshop.
3 days, or 21 hours.
The theory modules can be taken remotely. The hands-on integration workshop takes place in person.
An ExaBuilding training certificate: Integration & Interoperability of Smart Building Systems. Assessment is based on a case study and a practical integration project. It is not an official certification exam.
